About the Area

Arcópoli's International Affairs Area arises as a response to the challenges of a globalized society where civil rights are still denied to LGTB people in many countries.

About the coordinatorluis eme

 

Luis came to Arcópoli in 2006 looking for people with similar interests. After a period of small actions he decided to get more involved in the association and volunteer as co-editor of its journal and coordinate the International Affairs Area. He has just finished a double degree program in chemistry between Madrid and Strasbourg with an Erasmus scholarship.  Thanks to this positive experience he has decided to continue his french-hispanic life with a joint PhD in nanotechnology.

 

Objectives

 

The area´s main objective is to work towards legal and social equality for LGTB people worldwide. In order to succeed, this area:


-  Will stay informed about events internationally-relevant for the LGTB community, transmitting the information to the Association.


-  Will condemn discriminatory acts to pertinent authorities.

-  Will organize acts, projects and work teams in order to inform our society about the types of problems LGTB people are faced with.

-  Will watch over LGTB foreign students.

-  Will try to establish contact with other LGTB university associations abroad.


-  Will make use of the available medias (e-mail, social networking, webpage...) to disseminate its labor.


-  Will collaborate with the FELGTB´s International Area.

-  Will participate actively in international forums.
